BREEAM

BREEAM is the world's leading science-based suite of certification systems for a more sustainable built environment. It provides a framework to deliver newly built, in-use, communities, refurbishment, and infrastructure assets. Each standard utilises an adaptable common framework, supporting commercial success while enabling a positive environmental and social impact

BREEAM is essentially a rating scheme that enables clients, designers, and contractors, to go beyond the baseline to achieve distinctive environmental and social performance in their work, improving project specification, design, and construction practices. A project's performance is appraised by trained assessor, and then verified against a common framework. The measures used represent a broad range of categories and criteria, including ecology. Glade Ecology are specialists in maximising your project's ecological value, while ensuring biodiversity protection.

The BREEAM New Construction standard delivers newly-built assets that are high performing and sustainable, supporting commercial success, while creating a positive environmental and social impact.

The BREEAM In-Use standard provides a framework to enable property investors, owners, managers, and occupiers to make sustainable improvements to their assets, helping to improve the performance of buildings that are already in use.

BREEAM Communities supports planners, local authorities, developers, and investors to integrate and assess sustainable design in the master planning of new communities and regeneration projects.

BREEAM Refurbishment delivers projects to a high performing and sustainable standard, supporting commercial success, and creating a positive environmental and social impact.

BREEAM Infrastructure is the sustainability rating scheme for infrastructure and civil engineering. It aims to tackle the industry's key issues, including climate change, carbon, and resilience, by improving the sustainability of infrastructure. The framework gives project teams influence and support to develop and design in a sustainable way, throughout the infrastructure and civil engineering project's life cycle.

When

Integrating sustainability and ecological protection measures at the earliest possible stage of a project using the BREEAM framework, enables reduced life-cycle costs and increases in asset value.
